Club News 8th August

posted 7 Aug 2016, 15:25 by diarmuid mccarthy

Sincere sympathy to the family of James Carey, Mounloun, who died last week. James was a Bus Hire Operator for many years, and regularly drove our teams to matches all over the County, and beyond. He always provided us with a first class service and his good humour and demeanour made him very popular with players and mentors alike. He was a great supporter of the Club and was a valued sponsor for many years. May the Lord have mercy on his soul.

A big thank you to our club sponsors Quish's for their continued support of all our teams.

Well done to our U16 Hurlers who had a good win over St Oliver’s last Monday. Full time score Tramore 4-11 St Oliver’s 3-12.

Our Junior hurlers played Ballygunner in round 5 of the junior hurling championship in Kill on Saturday last. We played against the wind in the first half and after a slow start we eventually got into the game with some well taken points. We scored a well taken goal after conceding a goal earlier on to leave it 1-10 to 1-07 in our favour at half time.

We extended the lead early on in the second half picking off some nice scores to run out winners 1-19 to 1-9. Overall it was a much improved performance for the both the management and this young team who are working very hard.
