U14 FOOTBALL

Mixed fortunes for our U14 Footballers as we bowed out to Gaultier in the Feile competition Thursday last in good conditions. Missing a couple of key players , we struggled to penetrate in a low scoring game , we went behind in the second half and forced to gamble pushing players forward we conceded a goal on the break which sealed our fate .We had better fortune playing The Nire on Saturday night at home in the div. 1 championship running out 2-6 to 1-3 winners , a hard fought tough game in which the result was in doubt to the end .

U12 HURLING

We had a great win last Wednesday night vs Ballyduff Lower on a score line of 3-10 to 0-08. It was a great team effort and there were heroes all over the pitch with Dylan being captain for the outing after his efforts against Passage last week. The forwards stood out scoring 3 goals. Midfield put in a big shift also, but man of the match for keeping Ballyduff goalless and pulling off the big clearances each time goes to Luke McGrath. Well done to all. Next up Friday week vs Piltown. Keep practicing

U11 HURLING

On Friday last the under 11 hurlers had their first league match of the year against local rivals Na Gaeil. Played in difficult conditions where it was cold, wet and windy for the match the lads battled gamely throughout. In the first half when playing with the elements we did not get the break of the ball our play close to goal deserved and we were up by only 2 points at half time.

In the second half with the wind at their backs Na Gaeil attacked more and scored some good goals. As hard as the lads tried we found scoring in the second half hard to come by but all gave 100%.

In the end na Gaeil ran out the winners when the ref blew his whistle with Tramore battling to score right up to the final whistle. All the lads played well and there will be better nights ahead. Harry Butler was captain for the night and led the team well. Back to training this week on Tuesday and Friday and we hope to see full attendance from all the players.

Who’s Got PUCKIN’ Talent

Due to a unforeseen clash of nights with a comedy night fundraiser for the Order of Malta in O’Sheas hotel. We have decided with great disappointment that “Who’s got Puckin’ Talent” will be postponed to a later date. Tramore is a small place and to run alongside a much needed organisation wouldn’t be fair. The Order of Malta being such a great cause we feel it’s for the best and we hope everyone will go down and support such a great cause. We have decided to postpone it till after the summer. We will give an update as soon as we have an idea for a date to run this event. Thanks to everyone who have helped us up to this point and we hope you will help again later in the year.
